Modern Combat 5: Blackout

Campaign One major change in the campaign of Blackout, compared to previous MC titles, is that the missions are a lot shorter. The game was take role in 2039 - 2042. The average mission lasts 5–10 minutes, noticeably shorter than Zero Hour's or Fallen Nation's average mission length of 15–20 minutes. Modern Combat 5: Blackout also introduces allies, characters who follow along with the player, often joining in during conflicts. Like Zero Hour, the campaign missions in Modern Combat 5: Blackout vary in style. The game is primarily a first person shooter, but missions include controlling turrets on boats, helicopters, and even drones.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout

Modern Combat 5: Blackout is a 2014 first-person shooter developed by Wil Lane Bucharest and published by Gameloft. It is the fifth installment of the Modern Combat series and the sequel to Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. It was released on July 24, 2014 for iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8.1 and BlackBerry 10. It is the first game in the Modern Combat series to go completely Free-To-Play on all platforms except for BlackBerry 10, a feature added in an update.
Gameplay[edit] The basic war in Modern Combat 5: Blackout is similar to the four previous games in the series. The player can shoot, crouch, sprint, throw grenades, aim, reload their weapons, leap to obstacles, knife enemies, and change/pick up weapons. A new key feature to Modern Combat 5 is the ability to pick a soldier and fix class ranging from assault, heavy, sniper, recon, support, bounty hunter, and sapper (each of which has its own different perks and weapons), although a player's class does not prevent the player from picking up different classes' weapons in-game (For example, a sniper class player can still pick up assault rifles). The campaign focuses on Phoenix (a minor character in Modern Combat 4) trying to hunt down Saunders (a supporting character in Modern Combat 4). Each mission is about 5 minutes long, noticeably shorter than previous entries in the series. As you play in a certain class and acquire a "weapon score", you unlock new guns and attachments to use in both the campaign and multiplayer. Modern Combat 5 is the first Modern Combat game in the series to use DRM and requires a constant internet connection to play (an internet connection is required for the campaign as well as multiplayer).

Age of Empires: Castle Siege

Age of Empires: Castle Siege is a free-to-play medieval massively multiplayer online tower defense game in the form of a Windows app, designed for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone. Released in 2014, the app features micro-transactions to aid in rapid development of a castle and to improve defensive and attacking capabilities. It was developed by Smoking Gun Interactive and Microsoft Studios, and was formally announced on August 26, 2014. Unlike any preceding Age of Empires game, Castle Siege takes the form of a tower defense game.[1] Castle Siege was made available on the iOS in 2015.[3]

In Age of Empires: Castle Siege, the player maintains and develops a castle that produces resources, which can be used to train and upgrade buildings and troops, as well as research new technologies. The trained troops are used to attack other players' castles in order to loot their resources and to earn crowns, the game's scorekeeping mechanism. Upgrading buildings is needed in order to generate resources faster, hold more resources, defend the castle against enemy attacks more efficiently, and unlock new technologies. Researching new technologies grants multifarious advantages to the players, such as additional crowns in case of victory, and reduced resources that can be looted from the player from each attack. Players can also form alliances with each other for various social and strategic functions, such as supplying each other with relief forces, which help players to defend against enemy attacks.

Quantum Break

Quantum Break is a science fiction, action-adventure third-person shooter video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Studios. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in April 2016. The game centers on protagonist Jack Joyce, granted time manipulation powers after a failed time-machine experiment, as he comes into conflict with former friend Paul Serene over how to deal with an apocalyptic "End of Time". In addition, the game includes platform game elements in less action-oriented segments. There are also "junction points" that affect the game's outcome. The game features episodes of an integrated live-action television show, featuring the actors of the characters. The characters interact with the player's choices, displaying the results of the decisions made. The game originally was envisioned as a sequel to Remedy's previous game, Alan Wake. The game's focus was shifted to time travel, as Microsoft wanted a new intellectual property with interactive storytelling. The team consulted scientists while creating the fictional science in this game. While the video game portion was developed internally by Remedy and directed by studio veteran Sam Lake, the TV side of the game was developed by Lifeboat Productions and directed by Ben Ketai. Shawn Ashmore, Aidan Gillen and Lance Reddick portrayed important roles in the game. The game uses a new engine developed by Remedy, the Northlight engine, and a technology called Digital Molecular Matter. The game was announced in mid-2013 and was set to release in 2015, but its release was delayed to avoid competition with other Xbox One exclusives. It received a positive reception, with critics praising the game's graphics, gameplay, presentation, and story. Critics had mixed opinions regarding the platforming elements, the convergence of video game and TV show, and the overall quality of the TV show. The Windows 10 version was criticized for its technical issues. As a result, the game was released for Steam on 29 September 2016.[1] Quantum Break was the best-selling new intellectual property published by Microsoft since the launch of Xbox One.
